‘I think buildings should imitate ecological systems,’ said Ken Yeang many years ago. And he’s right.
When we tendered for this project we didn’t think we had a chance of winning it, we’ve never worked with the shire of Northpark, they tend to favour local builders. So winning this project was a great surprise. We definitely didn’t want to let them down.
The architects on this one were hell bent on the windows achieving the right angles to flood natural light into the apartments in winter and provide shade in summer. I think we nailed it. We’re now working with the shire on plans for a food truck park to feed the Gen Y’s that moved in to these overpriced shoeboxes.
